About
What this is
Erath and Comanche County Scanner News reports incidents as they are heard on publicly available scanner traffic across Erath County and Comanche County, Texas. The page has served the two counties on Facebook for years; this site is the same reporting in a form that is searchable, permanent, and readable without a Facebook account.
Who we are not
ECSN is not affiliated with local fire departments, law enforcement agencies, EMS agencies, or any government entity. Nothing here is an official release from a responding agency. In an emergency, call 911 and follow official sources.
How information is handled
- Reports are preliminary. Scanner traffic is often incomplete or corrected minutes later.
- Names and other identifying information are left out.
- Exact residential addresses are not published. Locations are given as approximate roads, blocks, intersections, mile markers, or general areas.
- Developing details are added as updates beneath the original report rather than by rewriting it, so the record of what was known and when stays intact.
- An incident marked Resolved is not deleted. It keeps its page and stays in the archive.
